Come One! Come All! The Masquerade is hosting a Food Festival with dishes from around the world. All are encouraged to partake in this adventure of spices and meats, exploring the various cuisine. Whether it be Vendyhan curry or Shemite R’fissa, there will be a dish to capture most taste. There will be a cooking contest to see who can create the most delectable of dishes. The winner shall receive something quite astounding. Couriers dressed in various shades of red provide anyone they come across in the land the information and directions to the hall.

Out of Character Info: This is a non hostile event open to all. There isn't a dress code for the event, but there is a minor cover. Players can offer various supplies for cooking, crystal, iron and etc to trade for entry. There is a 'Best Dish' Contest where the winner will get a rare weapon. Players are encouraged to be creative with the dishes they create, the description can be something beyond the foods we have in game. There is a general raffle for all who attend the event and you must be present when names are drawn to receive the prize. All food and drink will be in open boxes near relevant tables.  A tinyurl with the ambient music will be provided via discord in the LFR chat.
Where: The Masquerade, Near Pitfall Pass along the northern part of the island shoreline.
When: Saturday 12th January @ 4PM EST / 9PM UTC (May start a little later check discord)

~The Festival Foods~

Curried Tilapia with Mango Salsa
Tilapia fillets are rubbed with a curry and garlic pepper blend, quickly pan fried, then served with a spicy mango salsa. A simple green salad and rice as accompaniments.

Kushite Curried Aloo with Shrimp
Green beans, shrimp, and potatoes are cooked in a pot for a terrifically flavorful one-pot meal that will have you dreaming of sailing on the sea.

Choctaw Catfish
A Pitchish dish hailing from the Eagle Tribe. Catfish fillets are coated with a steak seasoning and cornmeal mixture, and fried to golden perfection.

Steam Manta Ray with Mango Chutney
A Vendyhan mango chutney (a sauce created from ground peanut relish and various spices) is glazed over slow steamed mantis and garnished with mint.

Sesame Crusted Mahi Mahi with Soy Shiso Ginger Butter Sauce
Mahi mahi fillets arett encrusted with black and white sesame seeds, and pan seared. The sauce is rich and creamy and flavored with soy, ginger, shallots, and mint.

Honey-Garlic Slow Cooked Chicken Thighs
The boneless chicken thigh has been slow cooked in a fire spit with honey-garlic glazed upon it. This is server with basmati rice and roasted vegetables.

Mussels in Lemon Cream
A butter, garlic, shallot, parsley and lemon mixture is poured over fresh mussels as it stews in a oven pan. Wine is then added as the mussels simmer before they finally open.

Garlic Butter Baked Crab Legs
One pound of steamed fresh king crab from the arctic isles of the southlands of Aeternia with garlic butter glazed over. A few pinches of parsley for garnish.

Berry Salad with Lime-Basil Vinaigrette
Various berries have been thinly sliced and mixed with spinach into a dish that is not only sweet but very refreshing. A lime-basil vinaigrette has been added and lightly tossed into salad to coat.

Islander Rum Cake
This cake is filled with the robust flavors of the island with rum and vanilla extract. This baked treat has been glazed gingerly with a rich rum flavoured icing.

Apple Cider Sauce and Pork Loin Chops
Seasoned pork loin chops baked with apple cider and a Nordic sauce, finished with sherry served with mashed potatoes.

Chicken Marsala
Herbed chicken stewed in a sweet Marsala and mushroom sauce-- sounds simple, and its is --simply delicious.

Hyrkanians Mutton
A high quality mutton dish cooked in a creamy sauce packed filled with wonderful flavors. Served with onion kulchas and ginger basmati.
